Rant 'N Rave with the Stray Cats is the third album from the Stray Cats, released on August 15, 1983. It reached #27 on the Billboard 200 Top Albums chart, and features the Billboard Hot 100 singles, “(She's) Sexy + 17” (#5) and “I Won't Stand in Your Way” (#36).
Produced again by Dave Edmunds, the album stood out in 1983 as a pure shot of rockabilly in an era dominated by New Romantic acts like Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet. Its blend of retro swagger and punk energy made it a fan favorite, with Setzer’s guitar licks and the band’s raw drive keeping the sound timeless.
Review Highlight (sputnikmusic):
“It may not be the most experimental album of all time, but the Stray Cats show you how to rock like it’s 1959 all over again in the space of half an hour.”
